Facelift Surgery

As people live longer, healthier lives, they want their face to reflect their inner vibrancy.

Facelift surgery, also known as rhytidectomy, corrects the most prominent signs of facial aging, effectively turning back the clock and providing a revitalizing and youthful transformation.

What is a Facelift?

As we age, our collagen, fat, and bone volume decrease, while the connections between tissues become more lax. This results in sagging skin on the face, neck, and jowls, and the accumulation of fat in the neck, leading to an excess of fullness. Facelift surgery lifts the tissues of the mid-face and neck, providing improved contours and reduced laxity.

Precision Lift™: Elevating Excellence

Not all facelifts are the same. Our founder, Dr. Paul Denton, developed Precision LiftTM, ensuring optimal face and neck contouring. This technique delivers remarkable jawline rejuvenation, cheek re-volumization, and a smooth, refreshed neck.

What Distinguishes Precision Lift™?

Natural & Lasting: Combining elements of extended deep plane face and neck lifttechniques, it addresses facial laxity eectively, providing natural and long-lasting results.

What areas are improved with Precision Lift™?
  • Reduced jowls
  • Enhanced jawline contour
  • Improved neck bands (platysmal bands)
  • Tightening and smoothing of the neck
  • Refreshed cheeck contour and volume
  • Reduced naso-labial folds

Precision Lift™ and Fat Grafting:

Fat grafting is commonly combined for optimal results, especially in slimmer faces orwhen substantial volume loss has occurred. Precision LiftTM and Fat Grafting work inharmony to restore lost volume.

Mini Facelift: A Youthful Refinement

Tailored to those with milder signs of aging, Mini Facelifts have a shorter incision that avoids the posterior hairline, compared to traditional facelifts. Mini facelifts are ideal for individuals with less advanced facial aging, without pronounced neck laxity.

While our practice offers Mini Facelifts, most of our clients are better suited for Precision LiftTM, for its transformative and comprehensive results. At your consultation, Dr. Denton and our experienced team will guide you toward the right procedure to achieve your goals.

What other procedures are commonly combined with Precision Lift™?
  • Fat Grafting/Transfer
  • Lip Lift
  • Eyelid Surgery
  • Brow Lift
  • Chin Implants
  • Laser skin resurfacing

What is the ideal age to undergo a Facelift?

The need for a facelift varies based on individual anatomy, genetics, and personal goals. While it is important to have suffcient facial laxity to warrant a facelift, there is no specific age requirement. The ideal candidate for a facelift is someone in good health, who does not smoke or have diabetes, and maintains a regular exercise routine.

Will my face look stretched or pulled after a FaceLift?

With Precision LiftTM, deep tissue structures are lifted and repositioned, ensuring natural-looking results without the stretched or pulled appearance associated with older facelift techniques.

Can a facelift reduce fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, or forehead?

While facelifts focus on sagging skin of the cheeks, lower face, and neck, additional procedures like eyelid surgery or laser skin resurfacing may address fine lines around the eyes, mouth, or forehead.

Can the bands in my neck be improved?

Yes, Precision LiftTM can improve platysmal bands in the neck by weakening the platysma muscle where it is excessively strong.

How long does a facelift surgery take?

Precision LiftTM takes several hours, varying based on individual facial features and additional procedures like fat transfer being performed.

Where are the scars located for Precision Lift™?

During Precision Lift™, Dr. Denton artfully places incisions for minimal visibility, including in the temporal hair tuft, around the ear, and along the posterior ear crease and hairline. The precise surgical technique and minimal tension closure result in fine scars that blend naturally over time.

What type of Anesthesia is required for Precision Lift™?

Our clients undergo either general anesthesia or deep intravenous sedation.

Are the results of a Facelift Permanent?

While Precision LiftTM offers an enduring enhancement, it's essential to recognize that facial aging is an ongoing process. On average, a Precision LiftTM turns back the clock by about 10 years. The longevity of these results is influenced by individual factors like skin and bone structure, as well as lifestyle choices. Typically, individuals may consider a second facelift 15-20 years after the initial procedure to maintain optimal results.

What is the typical recovery time before I can return to work or social activities?

Recovery from surgery varies between individuals. The initial phase of recovery involves some bruising and swelling, typical after facial surgery. Most patients feel socially acceptable within 3-4 weeks, while achieving the final, optimal result can take between 4-12 months.

Can only the Neck be Treated?

Yes! Please see our Precision Neck LiftTM section.

What are the limitations of Facelift Surgery?

Facelift effectiveness can be limited by facial bone structure, skin laxity, poor-quality skin, and lifestyle choices like diet and smoking in the months and years after the surgery.

What is a Mini Facelift?

Mini facelifts are shorter scar alternatives for younger clients with jowls but no significant neck laxity. In a mini facelift, the incision is shorter, and the posterior hairline incision is not required. While we do offer Mini Facelifts, it's important to note that the majority of our clients are better suited for our Precision LiftTM, which provides more comprehensive and transformative results.

I see many types of Facelifts on the internet, such as Ponytail Lift, S-Lift, Lifestyle lift, MACS lift - what are these facelifts?

Most of these terms refer to variations of mini facelifts. It is noteworthy that these techniques do not address the deep plane of the face, limiting their effectiveness for our clients. In many cases, these terms are primarily used for marketing purposes and may not deliver the desired outcomes.
